    These pieces feature an outer frame impressed with a pattern derived from ancient Chinese
    woodblock plates. The plates are pressed into the clay revealing a rich texture and a subtle
    suggestion of  history.
    The inner portion of the tile features a gilded orb, that seems to dance around the inner frame.
    The outer frame is coated with a combination of metallic oxides.  The Raku firing process
    results in swirling metallic coloration in the outer frame and a brilliantly colored inner tile, with
    the rich patina of  crackled glaze.
    Available in, from left to right, green, blue and red.
    These pieces look wonderful when displayed as a group of three, on one wall.

2012 is the "Year of the Dragon".
We created this tile for people who have
Dragon babies, like we do.
The Chinese character for "dragon" is in the
center of the tile. We used a dragon scale
texture for the outer frame.

    We first made these tiles as cultural keepsake items for our international adoption friends.
    The concepts of Hope, Faith, Love, Peace and Family are universal, however, and we soon began
    getting orders from people outside the adoption community as well.
    The characters are in bas relief and are accented by gold leaf.
    The colors on the outer frame will vary, due to the serendipitous nature of the Raku process.
    The tiles are very easy to hang, and look wonderful when displayed as a group.
